Shannon Hall

Minister of Music

Shannon served in churches in Hendersonville and Graham prior to filling the role of Minister of Music at MCBC. She was on staff at MCBC some years ago as youth and children’s music minister and was very excited to return! Shannon and her husband, David, a middle school teacher, live in Mebane with their youngest child, Caroline. Their older daughter, Chloe, is a student at UNC-Charlotte and son, Jonathan, is at McAfee School of Theology in Atlanta.
With degrees from Converse College and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary along with a master’s degree in English from University of New Orleans, Shannon has served as a music minister as well as minister to families over the last 22 years.
Shannon has a big love for hymns and enjoys exploring the stories and histories behind them. She would gladly sit and play piano for hours if given the opportunity, and being outdoors when the weather is warm is her favorite thing. Shannon’s love of food, especially NC classics like barbecue, liver mush, and deviled eggs, is always a major topic of conversation.

Virginia Taylor

Minister of Preschool Children

Virginia has served several churches in Chapel Hill since moving here over 25 years ago, but being the Minister of Preschool Children at Mount Carmel at this time is the most fun she’s had in ministry. Virginia earned a Doctor of Ministry at Campbell University in 2017 and a Master of Divinity at Fuller Theological Seminary in 1998. Her husband, Ralph, is an engineer for the State of North Carolina in Raleigh and they are happy to have their daughter and son-in-law only ten minutes down the road. When she’s not at church, Virginia is probably walking around her neighborhood with friends and unicorns, stretching out on a Pilates mat, meeting a friend for coffee, reading a book in her hammock, or watching a Hallmark movie.
